Global Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Forum, London

Held on 29 August 2024 in London, the Global Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Forum was a landmark event co-hosted by SOLVE-CHD and the International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (ICCPR). The Forum brought together over 50 leaders from 40 organisations across more than 20 countries, including the USA, UK, India, Taiwan, Malawi and more. The Forum’s spirit of collaboration led to a major breakthrough: following in-depth discussions and the development of a draft Call to Action, the World Heart Federation (WHF) proposed the creation of a formal WHF Roadmap on Cardiac Rehabilitation—a globally recognised framework to guide policy and practice. With strong backing from WHF, planning is now underway, with Professor Julie Redfern (SOLVE-CHD) and Professor Sidney Smith appointed as Co-Chairs of the initiative.

Set to launch at ESC/WCC in Madrid on 30 August 2025, the Roadmap will provide global direction to improve service delivery, equity, and implementation of cardiac rehabilitation. This partnership with WHF marks a transformative milestone for the field and reinforces SOLVE-CHD’s leadership in shaping global cardiovascular care.

Stay connected with SOLVE-CHD, we look forward to sharing more updates as we move towards the Roadmap launch and beyond.
